Responsible for assisting stage technical team in the day-to-day operation of the entertainment venues, with a broad knowledge of lighting, sound and video skills

Professional Skills
⢠Assists with set up of shows, cabarets, lectures, presentations and ship
events as directed, ensuring all areas are safe, clean and presentable
⢠Assists with back-stage requirements before, during and after performances
⢠Communicates with control booth and performers to ensure quality with
disciplined and safe procedures backstage
⢠Can trouble-shoot during performances â change mics, assist with immediate
matters â costume, battery changes etc.
⢠Ensures that design integrity and performance quality are maintained through
the run of the shows.
⢠Operates follow-spot when necessary.
⢠Reports necessary information for the Stage Managerâs Voyage Report.
⢠Maintains and performs minor repairs, general cleaning and maintenance
of equipment
⢠Communicates in a clear, concise and timely manner with Stage Manager and
other departments.
⢠Is on time for all set-ups, show call, meetings and work calls.
⢠Participates in special events by assisting with sound needs.
⢠Performs other duties as assigned by the Cruise Director, Assistant Cruise
Director, Stage Manager.
⢠Performs in a manner consistent with VOCâs Mission, Values and Vision,

Minimum
experience and qualification requirements for position:

Technical
theatre qualifications and experience preferred but not essential.
·
Basic
knowledge of sound, video and lighting equipment
·
Ability
to be flexible and willing to learn, with a desire to focus on a specific
technical role for future contracts
·
Must
have the ability to stand, kneel or crouch.
·
Must
have the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
·
Communicate
with performers and guest speakers backstage, offering clear and concise
instructions
·
Understand

Must
have the ability to negotiate catwalks and access all points in all theatre

that gets along with clients, customers, coworkers and management
