Position summary
Description
The Media Manager is an onboard
position under the Onboard Marketing Manager. Guest Shipboard Operations
umbrella reporting to Senior Media Manager. The onboard direct supervisor is
the Entertainment Director.
The
Media Manager is charged with the content management across various
communication channels on board Carnival Cruise Line as it relates to FunTimes,
Carnival HUB app, TV content, movies and sports..
HIS/HER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE,
BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Responsible
for the onboard content management updates using SeaMS and InDesign to update
the Carnival HUB app and collateral such as FunTimes, Good to Know, Showtime
and Debark flyers as well as targeted marketing material
- Coordinate
onboard signage needs with Hotel Director and department heads
- Audit
onboard collateral in accordance with the Commerce Plan to ensure compliance
with the company's branding standards
- In charge of
onboard movie scheduling, receiving of content hard drives and quality control
of all theaters including IMAX, Thrill Theater and Carnival Seaside Theater
- Ensure the
accuracy of content of in-cabin TV and sports bars. Communicate with onboard
technical teams and shoreside personnel to resolve any issues with broadcasting
- Generate
analytical reports including theater occupancy reports and Total Guest
Experience Monitor (TGEM) reports
- Work on
assigned projects by the Senior Media Manager and Manager of Onboard Marketing
| Onboard content
- Participate
actively in Carnival X initiative as aligned with companyâs objective needs and
as approved by the shoreside Onboard Marketing Department
- Perform safety duties as part of the Command & Control team
Minimum experience and qualification
requirements for position:
Preferred
education: Associates
degree or Bachelor's degree with a marketing or communications focus
Years of
experience required: 1
year minimum
Knowledge,
skills and abilities: Must
be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, resourceful and good with
meeting deadlines. Project management skills is a must. Must possess excellent
writing skills. Must be able to interact with guests and have the ability to
conduct trainings with team members as needed.
Technical
skills: Must
have intermediate to advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. Scala software
and Photoshop is a plus.
Other
requirements: Must
be open minded with the ability to adapt to change. Must be able to work with other
team members and liaise with upper management while keeping a very friendly and
professional attitude.
Travel: Must be flexible to travel and move
to different vessels as required for operational needs. Must be able to work a
minimum of six consecutive months.
Physical
demands: Must
be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk or computer for extended
period of time. Requires regular movement throughout vessel to conduct audits.
A day in the life of a Media Manager
The Media Manager is a key part of the onboard team,
effectively responsible for the planning, management and implementation of our
onboard communication streams. In addition, they coordinate many of our onboard
entertainment offerings, such as our movie schedules, and work directly with
the Entertainment Director, ensuring that everything is ship-shape for our
guests. Excellent computer skills are a must, as a large part of the Media
Manager's role is updating materials and completing day-to-day administrative
tasks. They will also check that the vessel sticks to the content rules, to
ensure we uphold our brand standards. Furthermore, they will provide reports to
shipboard leadership and our shore side support team!

Contract
length: 6 months aboard, 2 months' vacation
Monthly Salary: $2424 which includes
the basic wage, quality appreciation and 11% vacation/ holiday pay
Cabin - Shared cabin
accommodation with a private bathroom
Flights - The first joining
flight must be provided to the candidate - after that, they're on us
Other requirements - Candidates must be
able to obtain a CCL shipboard Medical, have a valid passport with at least
one-year validity, and a US C1/D visa. They should also be in good health, be
willing to stand and sit for extended periods, and be able to lift boxes and
items as required.

be provided to the candidate, they will be responsible for formal attire
