SUPERVISES: ASST. STEWARD/ESS
Basic Function:
The Cabin Steward/ess is responsible for ensuring quality Housekeeping service and high standard of cleanliness as per company guidelines. The Cabin Steward/ess will be assigned permanent Asst. Steward/ess, however the Steward/ess will be ultimately responsible for the entire section, report directly to the Assistant or Senior Assistant Housekeeper.

Passengerâs & Officerâs Cabins
Corridors, Public areas, H/K Pantries & Lockers
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Comply with Companyâs standard regarding dress and appearance.
2. Comply with Company cleaning standards and procedures.
3. Extend appropriate greeting to all guests and every opportunity.
4. Introduce guests to features of the stateroom at introduction.
5. Introduce assigned Asst. Steward/ess or HK Piccolo to all guests.
6. Provide on the job training and evaluation of assigned Asst. Steward/ess or HK Piccolos in all Company standards and regulations.
7. Provide feedback to Housekeeping Management regarding their progress and performance.
8. Assign daily duties to the Asst. Steward/ess as per their job description.
9. Follow all safety regulations during the course of duty.
10. Adhere to all safety and operational instructions regarding handling of chemicals.
11. Advice H/K Management of any guest challenges, immediately,
12. Report and follow up on all maintenance issue with the Assistant Housekeeper
13. Ensure all staterooms are serviced twice a day to the cleaning and set-up standard required.
14. Follow all relevant Company procedures pertaining to the cleaning and service of guest cabins.
15. Adhere to the âdo not disturb/make up my roomâ procedure
16. Handle guest clothing and personal items in guest rooms, responsibly and with care.
17. Ensure carpets in staterooms are kept clean through daily spotting and vacuuming.
18. Ensure balconies and furniture are kept clean.
19. Ensure assigned hallways/corridors are kept clean
20. Ensure daily inspections of guest mattresses and adhere to mattress turning guidelines.
21. Ensure environmental towel policy and pool towels policy are adhered to.
22. Ensure daily bathroom amenities, supply and replacement.
23. Ensure that food service items are removed from the stateroom promptly and returned to the appropriate area.
24. Ensure procedures relating to embarkation package (water, soft drinks and crisps) - mini bar par stock and provision of ice, is adhered to.
25. Adhere to safety deposit box procedure (if applicable).
26. Adhere to TV & remote control procedure
27. Adhere to Laundry procedure for guests
28. Adhere to âLost and Foundâ procedure
29. Adhere to Master key procedure
30. Report missing linen, furniture or other items (remote controls, ice buckets, etc) to your supervisor
31. Ensure locker and trolley assigned are kept clean and in good order on daily basis.
32. Set up supplies and equipment for cleaning the room.
33. Ensure correct usage, storage and labeling of all chemicals and other applicable equipments.
34. Ensure proper and constructive communication with co-workers & supervisors.
35. Report any unusual occurrences and/or requests to Hotel Manager.
36. Develop detailed knowledge about the shipâs crew and staff, services hours of operation, and the layout of the ship including suites and crew cabins.
37. Perform any reasonable request as directed by management
OTHER DUTIES:
Participates in the embarkation process as assigned by H/K Management
Acts as a wine waiter in the dining room
POSITION ADVANCEMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Basic Steward/ess knowledge (experience in hotel or cruise ship in similar position)
Basic Hygiene - Level 1
Good command of the English language.
Able to work unsupervised and to a fixed time schedule
Reliable, honest and friendly
Ideal age between 18 & 35 years
