Description
Under the direction of the Cruise Director and Assistant Cruise Director, the Cruise Staff is responsible for participation and leadership of all assigned activities.
Responsible for supervision and control of all guests in many of the entertainment-related activities.
The Cruise Staff is responsible for serving as an effective leader in any of the assigned Cruise Staff activities, insuring that each event takes place safely and promptly as scheduled.
It is the responsibility of the Cruise Staff to aid in the training of new hostless team members.
Each Cruise Staff must have the ability to serve as an effective Master of Ceremonies.
Each Cruise Staff must have the ability to work as a team member in cooperation with other Cruise Staff members, as well as with all other shipboard departments.
The Cruise Staff is responsible for ordering and storage of all supplies, gifts prizes. It is the responsibility of the Cruise Staff to constantly maintain organization of all Cruise Staff storage areas.
The Cruise Staff is responsible to assist in the corrections, additions, printing and copying of any of the printed material onboard, with specific reference to the Freestyle Daily, under the direction of the Cruise Director. It is the responsibility of the Cruise Staff to be accessible to and approachable with the guests.
He/She must be capable of being a patient listener while making the guests feel at home. Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
Minimum experience and qualification requirements for position:
Preferred: 2 years in recreation/Hospitality
Minimum of 1 to 2 years previous experience in the service industry. Experience in tour/travel industry preferred but not required.
Extrovert, quick and critical thinker, witty, personable, and articulate. Must be service oriented.
Although not an absolute prerequisite, prefer proficiency in ability to read, write and effectively communicate in one language in addition to English.
Must be able to adapt to confined and sometimes limited living conditions, for extended periods of time. In addition must be flexible in terms of last minute changes in itineraries, activities, events and schedules
