Description
Utility Cleaner â Marella Cruises
The Utility Cleaner
is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance the galleys on a daily basis,
following the cleaning guidelines set by Onboard Management.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Operational
· Handle all cleaning materials, chemicals and
machinery necessary for the daily operation, in a safe and responsible manner.
· Clean and maintain galley floors, walls,
machinery and tools after every service, with emphasis on the health and safety
of all staff.
· Participate in all assigned training
programs in order to develop skills with a view for future
development and potential promotion.
· Work with cleaning machinery as assigned by
the shipboard management.
· Cross train on all cleaning machinery.
· Perform all duties according to Shipsan, the
European sanitation program, and the United States Public Health rules and
regulations.
· Assist with stores and provision loading as
directed.
· Monitor the cleanliness, maintenance and
upkeep of all equipment and ship property used in the execution of duties.
· Ensure use of authorized-only chemicals
· Attend departmental meetings and trainings
as instructed.
· Ensure that personal appearance, uniform and
personal hygiene are in accordance with company regulations.
· Maintain personal hygiene and appearance
according to company standards:
- Shower before the commencement of each
shift.
- Hair must be well-groomed and above the
collar.
- Fingernails must be short and clean.
- Must be clean shaven at the beginning of
each shift.
Minimum experience and qualification
requirements for position:

Fluent in written and spoken English

Must be able to communicate
effectively with the senior management
